Where's my bus? See it live.

No guessing while you wait at the stop: see the vehicles on the line live on the map and follow the one you choose.

How it works

Two kinds of data, two different badges

Live tracking doesn't work the same way on every mode, because not every agency publishes the same data. Instead of hiding this difference, ekRota shows it on screen.

Live vehicle position

Bus and metrobus

Real GPS positions of vehicles are fetched at regular intervals and marked on the map. When you select a vehicle the map follows it; as the position updates, the marker glides smoothly along the line. While waiting at the stop you can see how many minutes away the vehicle is.

Timetable-based movement

Metro, Marmaray and ferries

Vehicle-level live position data for these lines isn't public. ekRota uses the official timetable and the line's real route geometry to calculate where the vehicle should be right now. A "timetable-based simulation" badge appears on screen — this is an estimate, not a real position.

On the map

Real route, real line

The line's own route

Stops aren't joined with straight lines. Rail and ferry lines use the real route geometry from OpenStreetMap; the ferry line never crosses land.

Direction arrows

Arrows on the line show which way the vehicle is heading. When you switch between outbound and return, the list and the map update together.

Choosing a stop

Tap a stop on the map and the list scrolls to it; pick it from the list and the map focuses there. Both sides always show the same thing.

Service announcements

If there's an active disruption or diversion on the rail system it appears as a warning on the line's screen and is marked in the line list.

Dark map

If your system theme is dark, the base map switches to dark too. Easy on the eyes at night.

Timetables

On top of live data, you can reach each line's official timetable in one tap; the next departure is highlighted.

Why is a vehicle sometimes not shown?

If no vehicle is running on a line at that moment (night hours, gaps between departures, days the line doesn't run), no marker appears on the map. Vehicle transmitters may also stop sending data temporarily; in that case you can follow the line using its timetable.
